Our story is one of tradition, legacy, and the transformative power of herbal medicine. Growing up, my father instilled in my brother and me a deep appreciation for nature and the healing power of plants, and he taught us about the medicinal properties of herbs.
When my father was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, it was a devastating blow to our family. However, he refused to let the disease define him or dictate his life. Instead, he turned to his knowledge of herbal medicine and began to experiment with different plants and remedies to manage his symptoms.
Watching my father navigate his condition with such grace and determination was both humbling and inspiring. He showed us that with the right tools and mindset, we could overcome any obstacle. Sadly, my father passed away after a few years of living with the disease, but his legacy lives on through our family's commitment to herbalism.
After my father's passing, I knew that I wanted to honor his memory by continuing his legacy. It was the continued research into healing Parkinson's disease, working with herbs, and creating remedies to ensure that others didn't have to experience what my family experienced, that got me through the grief. So, I decided to start an herbal apothecary that would provide high-quality, natural remedies to our community.
Our family owned apothecary offers a wide range of herbal products, including teas, tinctures, salves, and more. We are committed to sourcing our herbs sustainably and supporting local farmers and communities.
As a black woman, I am proud to carry on my family's tradition of herbalism and use our business as a platform for advocacy and social justice. We believe that everyone deserves access to natural and affordable healthcare options, and we are dedicated to making that a reality.
